Max Verstappen will be looking to bounce back to winning ways by successfully defending the Hungarian Grand Prix title.
Most recent race
The Red Bull Racing driver was beaten to the chequered flag at the most recent race in the 2024 Formula One season which was the British Grand Prix on 7 July.
Verstappen started fourth on the grid and he passed several cars, and ultimately finished second which saw him collect 18 points from the historic race.
Formula One title ambitions
The three-time Autosport International Racing Driver Award winner extended his lead at the top of the World Drivers' Championship standings as he is now on 255 points.
Verstappen is 84 points clear of second-placed Lando Norris of McLaren as the duo go head-to-head for this season's Formula One world title.
Why Verstappen could win the 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix
The 2022 Laureus World Sportsman of the Year is winless in his last two races in the current season and he will be determined to end this unwanted run in Hungary.
Verstappen has won the last two Hungarian Grand Prix and he could become the second driver to win the event three times in a row.
What did he say?
"We just didn't have the pace today. I was slowly dropping back when it mattered in the beginning. It didn't look great. At some point, I was thinking "Are we going to finish fifth, sixth?" Verstappen said at the 2024 British Grand Prix.
"But we made the right calls. Going from the slicks to the inters, then from the inters back to the slicks, was every time (done on) the right lap. At the end, the call from the team to be on the hard tyre, instead of the soft, definitely helped me out.
"That's why I think we finished second today. It could have been a lot worse, but we're making the right calls, we still got onto the podium. Of course, I'm very happy with that."
